Growing up in Russia in a family of a bodybuilder; I soaked up the love for being strong and powerful with mother’s milk. Sadly, most of my girl friends have never shared the same passion. I’d thought the stigma that women need to be small and frail, waiting for a strong man to protect them, had long since passed. Unfortunately, that is not the case. The majority of women in United States, Russia and other countries around the world are still afraid of weight training fearing becoming bulky and unattractive.
It is mind blowing that most people don’t realize that it is physically impossible for a woman to get manly-bulky while being a natural athlete no matter how heavy she lifts. Women don’t have enough testosterone to build as much muscle as men. However, unless exercising at least 150 minutes per week with moderate intensity, muscle degradation makes one weak and incapable with age.
Without proper training you will replace 10 lbs of muscle with 10 lbs of fat in the next 20 years. Your health, flexibility, agility, mental focus and looks will be drastically compromised.
