Being mad at yourself

Recently, I have been pretty mad at myself…

For years of complying, not questioning what is “normal” (spoiler: THERE IS NO SUCH THING), for just accepting things the way they are.

Why do I have to get friends and peers rethink stuff that makes them uncomfortable? I’ll let those activists take care of the problems and stay right here under the fuzzy “good girl” blanket”.

We let ourselves get convinced that we can’t change anything because of course the decision making majority is not benefiting from the shifted status quo. We think that if all remains the same, nothing things are just going to roll the way they are expected to, which is fine.

Do you enjoy being “fine”?
Not “excellent”, not “slayin it”, not “better than ever!”.. FINE!?
I got bad news for you, fellas.
If your life is not improving, that means it is doing the opposite. Nothing ever stays the same. Ever… If the tree is not growing, it is suffocating. If you are not developing, you are degenerating. So if you stayed the same, and everybody else progresses, YOU’RE BEHIND. Get your shit up to speed.

“Oh well everybody’s already so ahead, I will never catch up!”

So, instead you want to dig yourself even deeper into the hole of denial and regrets?

If you ain’t going to make it happen, nobody is. And yes, mama is gonna love you regardless. Judgemental “friends” will dwindle, and the inspiring ones will appear.

Use the self-anger as a fuel to move your gluteus in the right direction. You will inevitably piss some status-quo guards off along the way. But fuck them.

They never cared, why shall you?
